Vibe Of The Quarter: 2021 Q3

Updated: Jul 29, 2022

Summer is officially over, leaving many of us to face the summer blues. Over the last year or so, we’ve asked you to submit your favourite songs every Monday on our Instagram which has helped us put together the ultimate end of Summer vibes! Here’s a collection of our top #VibeOfTheWeek tracks we’ve loved over the last three months.

1. VINCE STAPLES - YO LOVE FT. 6LACK AND MEREBA

Long- Beach native Vince Staples, links up with 6lack and Mereba on ‘Yo Love’. This ‘Queen & Slim’ number delves into a world where love proves to be worth it all. Despite the headache, tragic realities, and dark truth, nothing comes between Staples and the one he rides for.

2. JEROME THOMAS - NO BS

Possessor of honey-comb vocals. Jerome Thomas skips the small talks with ‘No BS’. This silky sweet vibe illustrates the power of being in own zones while protecting one's energy.

3. FLWR CHYLD - MELLOW DRAMA FT. GRIMM LYNN

Flwr Chyld is a master of blending nostalgic R&B rhythms and sparking new life into them. Possessing a colourful musical background aids him to birth radiant sounds like ‘Mellow Drama’. Get into these “Stank Face Vibes” as both him and Grimm Lynn take us all on a mellow-fever trip.

4. TEMS - FOUND (FEAT. BRENT FAIYAZ)

Rising star, Tems, never disappoints as she delivers on ‘Found’. Assisted by R&B talent Brent Faiyaz, the duo orchestrates the perfect antidote for finding self and embracing it in its highest form. Fall in love with the aspects that make you, YOU with this one.

5. JEAN DEAUX - RECIPE!

Jean Deaux and skilful producer ROMderful come together in this hip-jerking anthem that champions one’s inner sauce.

I THINK WE GOT THE RECIPE / IT’S MY DESTINY NOW THEY WON’T BE NEXT TO ME

Coming from her latest album ‘Watch This’, ‘Recipe!’ is a perfect feel-good song, to hype anyone up.

6. CLEO SOL - HER LIGHT

One thing this soul-rooted vocalist is going to do is come through with seasoned, affirming melodies. ‘Her Light’ is the audio reminder that encourages you to take the first initial step but not give up when you stumble; as it will prepare you for something greater. Like Cleo said: How do you run before learning to walk?

7. SAULT - MASTERPIECE

The British soul-funk collective, Sault, explores the realm of the hopeless romantic. ‘Masterpiece’ perfectly captures the essence of the infatuated lover.

I CAN’T JUST KEEP FALLIN’ FOR YOU/ WE CHANGE LIKE THE WEATHER/ I JUST CAN’T KEEP FALLIN’ ON YOU

Jump into this smooth soundscape of nostalgic memories while reminiscing on those you hold close.

8. ANNA WISE - COUNT MY BLESSINGS FT. DENZEL CURRY

“See it, get it” and in that order. Receive this manifesting manual as Anna Wise and Denzel Curry provide us with instructions on how to transform fantasy into reality. ‘Count My Blessings’ is the perfect melody to have your hips rolling and embrace the true power of manifestation.

9. SMINO - MERLOT

Sip on some ‘Merlot’ and allow Smino to invite you into a daze. Produced by Monte Booker, ‘Merlot’ is a slippery, sensual adventure, making it a solid addition to this quarter’s selection.

10. ELI INGRAM - SWEET & SOUR

NO ONE EVER SAID/ THE ROAD TO LOVE WAS GON’ BE SIMPLE/ YOU MAKE ME LOSE MY SHIT/ BUT I STILL WANNA WAKE UP WITH YOU

The Brighton-born powerhouse captures love’s contradiction with ‘Sweet & Sour.’ Eli Ingram’s raspy, rich vocals highlight how love is never straightforward, but the sometimes rocky road is thrilling and one we all yearn for; enjoy it while you can!
