ABOUT WE ARE SOUL

WE WERE FOUNDED IN 2015 AS, 'SOUL SESSIONS' AN EVENT FOCUSED ON SHARING LO-FI, NEO-SOUL, R&B MUSIC AND LIVE ART. WE HAVE SINCE EVOLVED INTO 'WEARESOUL' (EST. 2019).

 

WE ARE SOUL IS AN ALTERNATIVE MUSIC AND ART COMMUNITY-BASED PLATFORM ENCOURAGING CREATIVES TO ENGAGE AND CONNECT. BY DESIGNING, CURATING AND EXECUTING

UNIQUE VISUAL PROJECTS AND EXPERIENCES, WE OFFER AUDIENCES THE OPPORTUNITY TO SHARE THEIR CREATIVITY WITH OUR COMMUNITY AND ULTIMATELY, BECOME PART OF IT.

OUTSIDE OF MUSIC AND ART, AS OUR CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, WE LAUNCHED THE SOUL PURPOSE CAMPAIGN AND THE ILE WA PROJECT TO BRING ABOUT SOCIAL JUSTICE

AND POSITIVE CHANGE TO YOUNG PEOPLE IN DEVELOPING COMMUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND CREATIVITY.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE A DEDICATED FEMALE-LED TEAM OF CREATIVES ALL WORKING ON A VOLUNTARY BASIS TO BRING WE ARE SOUL'S VISION TO LIFE. MEET THE TEAM HERE.

 

PLEASE NOTE: THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE YOU TO ATTEND BI-WEEKLY VIRTUAL TEAM MEETINGS, QUARTERLY 1-1s, OCCASIONAL (IRL) TEAM HANGOUTS,

WE ARE SOUL EVENTS AND MUSIC/ART RELATED EVENTS.

JOB DESCRIPTION

​

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

​

MANAGING SOME OF OUR KEY SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

• INSTAGRAM

• THREADS

• TWITTER

 

INSTAGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES:​

• Posting the curated feed posts on Instagram daily

• Curating and posting IG Stories​​

• Engaging with the community e.g. responding to comments and DMs

 

 

TWITTER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Retweeting/Quote tweeting relevant tweets 

• Reposting IG/Key Website content

• Tweeting original organic tweets from time to time

• Sharing all blog content

• Engaging with the community e.g. responding to replies, quote tweets and DMs

ADMIN

Our social media manager will gather all creative website content and share this information with the writing team and creative director each month on the 24th

(Note: Deadline to send to manager should be 20th of each month). This includes:

 

• MUSIC PAGE

  • Top 4 Vibe Of The Week Submissions from the previous month

  • Top 3 musicians/artists shared on our feed from the previous month

  • x1 Music Video Of The Month

• COMMUNITY PAGE

  • x3 Favourite tracks submitted by our community via social media platforms

  • x2 Upcoming Creatives from our email or social media submissions

 

• Responding to all social media related emails and projects and cascading them on to the relevant team member to action the request.

• Actioning any social media tasks after receiving social media emails from the social media manager.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

​

• Experience using Instagram and Twitter

• Being organised and highly efficient

• Able to work on your own but also thrive in a team environment

 

​

USEFUL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

​​

• A minimal eye that will be able to contribute to our minimal social media feed plans

• Experience analysing social media analytics and/or creating strategies to help grow a social media following

• An ability to find relevant content and inspiration for the WE ARE SOUL brand

• A strong music taste and knowledge of artists and activity in Neo-Soul, Lo-Fi, R&B and the Alt music scene

• An ability to create social media assets using Adobe Indesign

• Knowledge of/or an interest in the art industry
