The ILẸ WA coffee table book is no longer available via pre-order. However, we recently sold the book in October 2023 in a 4 week pre-order period. We will send off all orders made the following month for printing and fulfilment once all orders have been reviewed and processed.
HOW LONG IS THE PRE-ORDER PERIOD?
We will print, package and ship your orders. After this, digital copies will be made available for those who may have missed the ILẸ WA pre-order period as we will not be offering a pre-order option again. Physical books may be made available in the future at workshops and/or events if they arise.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PRE-ORDER PERIOD ENDS
Orders will be sent for printing after each pre-order period ends. It takes about 2-3 days to process and 10-14 days to print and receive the books. We will then package and ship the books to you. Standard shipping is available. Please allow until the end of the following month to receive your book(s).
WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY COFFEE TABLE BOOK?
PRE-ORDERS
The ILẸ WA project and book was curated and designed in-house using the work of 41 creatives to tell African and Caribbean inspired stories. This book has been self-published by WE ARE SOUL.
WHO MADE THE ILE WA BOOK/PROJECT?
There is only one book. However, this book is available in two sizes. Our standard size is 210mm x 210mm and our large size is 300mm x 300mm.
HOW MANY BOOKS ARE THERE?
In 2017, WE ARE SOUL partnered with Nigerian based NGO, CWEENS, who connected us with three girls who required educational and financial support. There has since been a need to find intentional and creative ways to fundraise so we can continue to do this important work. A portion of the profits from the book will go directly towards this philanthropy project. The book has also allowed us to showcase the works of 41 talented creatives across the globe.
WHY DOES THE ILE WA BOOK EXIST?
THE BOOK
As we are self-publishing the book, our costs are substantially higher than if we had a publishing company backing us. We have factored those costs, plus the costs of having a retailer into the book price while still ensuring we have a profit for the Soul Purpose campaign.
WHY DOES THE BOOK COST WHAT IT COSTS?
All creators donated their works to the book to support our philanthropy cause. A portion of the profit will go towards our charity work to support the educational needs of underprivileged young girls in Nigeria.
ARE THE CREATIVES IN THE BOOK GETTING PAID?
Unlikely. Though we will make digital copies available, the print version may not come back on sale unless there is a high demand from our community.
